What Treyson loves about Birthday's.

Treyson has been thinking a lot about birthday's lately. He went to his friend's party and last weekend we celebrated Grandpa's 50th birthday. This was just too cute not to share. Can't they stay this age longer??

Kindergarten and Preschool: Here come the Sevcik's!

We have two very excited kids at the Sevcik house this Fall! Makaylah, who turned 3 on May 30, started preschool at Beans Plus on September 6. Treyson, who turned 6 on September 6, started Kindergarten in the Rehder Rainforest Classroom at Hoover Elementary School. Our routines are getting established. As a huge supporter of school wellness, I try to walk or bike Treyson to schools in the mornings. He comes home every day loving school, loving his teacher, Mrs. Rehder, and talking about all of the new things in his life. His favorite aspect of school- eating lunch in the lunch room! Check out his classroom blog- rehderrainforest.blogspot.com
Makaylah has had a few rough days at school, but now says she loves it. It was certainly an adjustment from being at daycare nearly everyday since she was 3 months old. She is busy learning her new routines, and enjoys eating lunch, singing songs and dancing. She is begging us to put her in a dance class, so as soon as we get into a better routine, I will become a dance mom. :)
Life with these two kids is simply the best. We both feel extremely fortunate that we have two, healthy, smart, GREAT kids! I have to remind myself that we need to slow down and enjoy every single day because before we know it, these kids will be graduating!

ooops- has it really been a year?

All I can say is WOW!! Has it really been a year since we last posted?

Tomorrow marks 5 candles on the birthday cake for Treyson! Hard to believe 5 years ago right now, Tim and I were just two people, without children.. come 6:21a.m. - that all changed!

Treyson is total boy! He is into trucks, tractors (especially John Deere, he knows all of the different types!) and loves school. He missed the state cutoff for Kindergarten by 6 days :( so he will again go to Montessori Learning Center full time for preschool this year. He knows all his colors, shapes, can count to almost 100 - and can write his name and almost anything else you want him too. His teacher think he will be reading by the end of school this year and get an even better grasp on writing!

Makaylah is my ohh so sweet 2 year old :) She is talking more and more everyday! Just as her brother developed a Jersey type accent with some of his words (ex. Car - Cawwrrr), she has a little German accent and cannot pronounce c's (ex. Cat -Hat). She is just a cute little thing and loves to copy her brother in all he does. She loves books, writing on her magna doodle and playing with dolls. Naturally, she adores her baby cousin, James Dylan!

Tim is still working at the Regional Treatment Center and I am working as a Statewide Health Improvement Program (SHIP) Coordinator for Faribault, Martin & Watonwan Counties.

Anyways... hopefully that updates things for now!! I need to get better at updating this blog!

I've been neglecting my blogger duties!

So... I guess it's ok I had neglected my duties, as I was busy writing my 125 page thesis! But, now I am graduated (that's right, its now, Chera Sevcik M.S.) and I have more time to dedicate to maintaining our blog and picture site. In the mist of looking for a full time job, I am still working part time with PPMNS. I feel unsettled, anxious and eager to see what lies ahead. The economy surely isn't a friend to any new graduate (or anyone really), so I am just holding on and trying to remember to enjoy my extra free time.

Treyson is my little charmer. He is a good little man who is excited for all summer has to bring! He will be finishing his 1st year of preschool on May 29th and will have a summer free to play. He loves daycare and will continue to go there over the summer. He has really done well at preschool this year and has learned many new things. He continues to amaze me every day.

Makaylah will be 1 on May 30th!!!!! It is SO hard to believe, this year has gone by so fast! She has two teeth (her bottoms) but could eat steak like a champ. She was breastfeeding until this past week when she suddenly decided she wanted nothing to do with my feeding her anymore. I am happy to have made it 12 months, especially while in school. It is certainly an accomplishment! She is crawling all over, and cruising furniture.. she just hasn't gotten up the nerve to let go and run. She still has her sweet dimples and her "natural" mod hairdo! She is my sweet girl who is learning to talk. It's amazing how fast she has grown up! It is hard to think a year ago I was on bedrest, contracting away on my couch.

Makaylah on the MOVE!

This week Makaylah really started to go! She does a perfect army crawl!

Makaylah is getting so big! 9 months old this week! She is such a happy little lady, and cute as a button too!! No teeth yet, but she is eating anything and everything. I am still breastfeeding and that is still going well. She is also talking too- says hi, dada, mama, kitty, baby. She LOVES books!! She is a lot like her big brother!

Treyson is doing great! He is loving life as a three year old. He is such a good boy, and I feel (knock on wood) we have got passed the terrible threes. He has grown very attached to me, I think because I have been so busy lately that he really wants his mommy when she is home.

As always check sevcikfamilypictures.shutterfly.com for all photos!!

Merry Christmas, Happy New Years!

Geez, I'm a slacker...
We had a great Christmas! Treyson was SO excited about Santa!! And boy, Santa was sure good to him (and Makaylah too). Treyson and Mommy made cookies a few days before Santa came and on xmas eve night, we set out two cookies, a glass of milk and some carrots (for rudolph). He was excited to see all the presents under the tree and noticed that "santa was sure messy with his treats." After unwrapping presents, we headed to Grandma and Papa Leen's house for Christmas. Treyson and his cousin Kylie had a great time playing with their new kitchen sets and shopping carts. The kids loaded up on gifts there. We stayed the night and the entire next day. Friday night we headed over to Jeffers to start the Sevcik family Christmas. Again, the kids loaded up on lots of new toys, clothes and books! Treyson and his cousin Noah had a blast playing together.

After getting home on Sunday, we decided Treyson has so many new toys we had to create a toy room space somewhere in our house. This week my project was our basement. We have a full basement and were using a portion of good space as storage. I just felt unorganized! So we moved all the storage to the laundry room and created an office/workout space which can be blocked off from the kids (major plus). I then painted the previous office space and created a toyroom area for all the toys. It turned out great!!

I've been off of work for the past three weeks from MSU. A well deserved break!! I also took a mental break from my thesis.. it was great not having to think about it for a few weeks.. but now its back to the old grind of school and work!

Oh yeah, and I totally procrastinated on order and sending christmas cards this year. Maybe we will be untraditional and send some Valentine Cards or something :-)

Anywho, hope your holidays were great and filled with good food, good people and lots of presents!
